Greenwich

26_greenwich

Bank holiday Monday, so we joined the rest of London in strolling about Greenwich park. Massive naval buildings, the Cutty Sark and a trip down nautical lane.

Dinn dinns in the backyard after a touring day out, down to Greenwich and back down the river to Waterloo.

Sunday – activity centrale

24_bike

People’s kitchen day, here we have Cam and I with one of the bikes that we did up to help carry equipment and advterise the events.

25_BPK

The sun brought the people out to Myatts field park here we have Lucy, Fan and Christine dishing up the food – that would have otherwise gone to waste!

25_Hackney-Wick

From Brixton and out east to Hackney Wick! Catching up with this mighty troop at ‘Crate’ who were dishing up sensational beers and pizzas, with the olympic park stadium poking out in the background.

Extreme rain london town

24_finale

Harriet, Tom and Baxter’s last day in London was R-A-I-N-y. Had a delicimo brunch at ‘Long White Cloud’ in Hackney with their friend Ines, before venturing into the downpour.

25_sodden

Hackney farm was a welcome reprieve, with many an animal to amuse a sodden mr Baxter, held here by dad.

24_tower-bridge

London tourist time in the rain, Cam and I here by tower bridge before sheltering in a delightful and amazingly cheap wetherspoons – allll class. Photos with dates are credited to dad, who is mastering the point and shoot digital.

Brighton attack – take 3

23_brighton

An easy 45 min train from CJ, we were off to Brighton for the third time this fine Friday. Here we have Cam, Harry and Willie in the northern lanes.

17_yum

Had the glorious experience of seeing Harriet and Tom for the first time in nearly 4 years, and meeting their nearly 4 year old son Baxter!!! Here we are enjoying some wonderful corn on the cob and burgers at a bbq in Fulham. Most marvelous to have some solid hang time, and catch up on things from a big and little kid perspective!

Broadway market

10_broadway_EmCAm

Finally got to Broadway markets to enjoy the delicious food on offer. Got a sweet spot in the sun at bar that served up Belgian beers – tasty times!

10_beer

Got to try some new ones too, like old mate ‘Wiktap Pater’ above – kind of like a creepy santa.

10_broadway_LivTer

Most excellent to share those beers with an actual Belgian too – we are going to live with Liv and Terri above from October in Highbury and Islington!

Fare-wells impending

09_flat-shot

At the end of August, the flat as we know it will change. Wakefield (middle) is heading home, so we all cooked a couple of dishes each to have a last supper in the backyard – note outrageous levels of growth – ‘wild’ tomatoes and pumpkins back wall, different pumpkin variety ‘ram’s kodu’ to the right.

09_tasty-concoctions

Some of the spread, top left are morri’s mini fritattas, then fiorella’s bean balls, rice salad a la wakey, cam’s mix of lettuce from the garden salad and lucy’s corn salad – health explosion!

Highbury hoedowns
