catch ups and wedding glory!

Was glorious to meet up with Tofa above, after his over 4,000 km motorbike trip through NZ, and to see their excellent setup in the syrp office.

Later that day we were stoked to be at McRobie’s wedding. Above is Amelia and Kaash awaiting the bride’s arrival.

And here she is! Emma McRobie (now Marsden) gliding down the aisle with Angus on the left, and Ross on the right. Felt so lucky to be able to share in Emma and Richie’s most glorious day!!

Family dinns finale

Brief but great catch ups with Alzy, here having beers with Adam in Arrowtown.

The evening brought finale family dinns as it was Adam (middle) and my sister Leigh’s last night in town. Next time we see them they will be parents!!

We were fortunate to be in NZ when Emma McRobie (second from left) was getting married. Great catch up times with many familiar faces!

Group shot of all the ladies.

family dinn dinns

Back to Arrowtown for a delicious feast with the Jagvik family. Above is my dad, cousin Hannah, Adam and Leigh.

The road that winds around lake wakatipu on the drive from Invercargill to Arrowtown is called the “Devil’s staircase’ and this is part of the view!

Invers

Went to my hometown Invercargill for two days. Was a great opportunity to rummage through my cupboard, visit my nana and my step grandma dorothy and help dad out at the backpackers hostel. Above is Julius and Leif, two German backpackers who have been helping dad out so that our family can have some great catch up times!

Boating on the lake

Last day in Wanaka was a banger, getting out on the boat and pulling up on our own beach for the afternoon!!

Crystal blue water? check. Crystal blue sky? check.

O’Connell family photo  – thank you Wanaka and family for glorious times there!!

Glorious wanaka times

Most of the families ventured along the Diamond Lake track to get out and about in the sun, and get a look at Wanaka from a different side – truly glorious!

And what better way to cool off than by jumping in Lake Wanaka!

Mum, Pete, Jenni and Nick sheltering from the sun.

We enjoyed the wanaka beerworks beers at ‘Federal Diner’, one of the new and most excellent cafes in Wanaka. Sister Leigh not delving into the beers though, being 4 months pregnant and all.

family times

We got the Coupers and O’Connells together in Wanaka as a bit of an engagement celebration, as we hadn’t all been together since our engagement in October 2011. It was a most glorious afternoon in the sun, and vegie dinner of tabouli, roast  vege, artichoke quiche, fresh green salad, dips, dad’s bread and banoffee pie for dessert! Delicious and most wonderful family hang times.

mount roy hardcore

With all the rain coming down in the past few days, Cam was keen to explore the snow that it created on the hills. So, off he and his brother Nick went to the top of Mount Roy! Just a casual 4 hours straight up hill trek, in shorts and casual shoes – well done them!

Uncertain if shorts and sneakers were the most appropriate attire there Nick.
