Two Gallants!

First gig for Emma in London was seeing ‘Two Gallants’ at the Electric Ballroom. A San Fran duo that we have been wanting to see for a looong time! Their lyrical ballads with fierce drumming was most glorious, as was their final song ‘Waves of Grain’ – ideal for the eve of the US election, and one they hadn’t played for 5 years!

Cam and Mark enjoying some post-gig kebabs and beers in Camden.

Creepy o’clock

There were many excellent dress ups at the Queenstown Road Halloween party. I felt pretty happy creeping a lot of people out as ‘Pennywise’ from IT, and Sarah was an excellent ‘Raven’ from Moonrise Kingdom. Below we have a further assortment of creepiness.

The Pilgrim

Catch up dinner started with fast paced eats and wine at Cafe Bonnington then further wines at the antique store/restaurant/bar Brunswick House Cafe – amazing! then it was onto the pilgrim, where tim lives and the roof where these 3 fellows are standing.

An Alzweiler in town

It was most excellent to stroll to Brixton Village markets for lunch to see this most familiar face! getting into some eats and beers at ‘seven’ cafe after a 5am arrival from Sydney!

Afternoon tea with ye

Sunday birthday enabled an afternoon tea treat gathering to occur, with lot’s of delicious sweety and savoury treats and a bit of mulled wine!

Olga, Liv, Nic and Jess lurking in the kitchen.

Cam being subjected to further awkward photos – thanks for the woolen tops mum!!

Autumnal

The air is crisp and fresh in the mornings and biking through Clapham Common with such a glorious array of autumnal colours makes for a most merry start to the day! Also been getting out and about with work. Below is the Balfron Tower in Poplar. We were taken around the area by the CEO of Poplar HARCA to see what resident activities they pursue, and were shown a presentation on the 19th floor of the left hand tower! Also, interesting Bond trivia in this, the 50th year. The architect of this building is Goldfinger – where the title of that movie came from! Director was not a fan of ‘brutalist architecture’.

Brixton People’s Kitchen!

Camilla and Fann set up the Brixton People’s Kitchen nearly a year ago. All of the food is donated by local cafes, delis and grocers as surplus food that would otherwise have gone to waste. Each month Camilla and Fann with a group a volunteers collect the food and cook it up at Myatts Field park. Great day of meeting lot’s of new people – superb atmosphere despite the cold and rain and delicious food! You can find out more and see more photos on the Brixton People’s Kitchen facebook page.

JC Superstar!

JC Superstar is one of the musicals I have always wanted to see – and seeing it at Wembley Arena with Tim Minchin playing Judas was most glorious!!!

Sports weekends continue…netball this week

The next Saturday we went to East Croydon to watch Smaill play netball for the Demonettes – another win!

The Demonette’s Goal Keep in action!
