Made my own shift dress!
September 14, 2012
When I left the fair Berlin shores, DaWanda very kindly and thoughtfully got me Saturday Sewing Session vouchers to keep my sewing spirit aloft in London. Arianna was a wonderfully patient and helpful teacher, showing us how to use a pattern so that we would walk away with our own shift dress that we made ourselves – satisfaction plus!
…and the bounty
September 8, 2012
Gardening in the sun Saturday was more about removals: removing the multiple snails and baby snails from the cauliflower plants, removing the weeds from the beetroot and removing other unsightly substances from the soil. Happily, there was also the removal of these leeks and corn too, the former which went into a delicious pie.
Backyard bounty weekend

Sunny days continue and make takeaway Indian and beers in the backyard most merry times!
1234 Festival
September 1, 2012
Cam and I went to a one day festival at Shoreditch park on the Saturday. So excellent to walk into a park and have it surrounded by sounds that we delight in. Ice Age above were the finale of the day and most impressive with their own style and rawness. Eagulls below were also entertaining with a side to side lead singer and guitarist who looked like one of the Princes. The German on the photo booth also lured us in for some rapid shots.

Common
August 27, 2012
Monday was a bank holiday so Cam and I ventured to the expansive wandsworth common to have some kicks, although the afternoon was dampened when a random dog became intent on destroying our ball.
Hirst at the Tate Modern
August 19, 2012
Cultural weekend pursuits and catch ups continued as I caught up with Charlotte who had free entry to the damien hirst exhibition at the Tate moden. Interesting to see a wide selection of his works which had quite the focus on science and death – particularly A Thousand Years (which includes maggots and a dead cow’s head) and the multiple animals in formaldehyde, with Mother and Child Divided enabling you to see the inner and outer.
Hyde park is excellent!
August 18, 2012
Kate once again introduces me to the sources of delicious treats – we got picnic goods from the Wholefoods Market on Kensington High Street to feast on in sunny Hyde Park. Great catch up times and Hyde Park exploration – particularly enjoyed the Princess Diana Memorial Fountain with it’s circular flow providing joy and coolness to many (despite the hoards of people). Serpentine gallery with free Yoko Ono exhibition and most pleasant cork structure by Ai Wei Wei and Herzog & de Meuron were also delightful options – found out that cork is a great material to sit and lie on.
Pimlico stroll
August 12, 2012
Cam played TWO games of cricket this sunny Sunday at Regent’s park. I went to see them play but alas just got there when it finished. Took a stroll from Pimlico to Vauxhall though, to peruse the Tate Britain and fortress like MI6 building, before home to watch the Olympic closing ceremony.
Sunny Saturday
August 11, 2012
On Friday we had final dinner and drinks with Possum at El Burrito de Pancho – an excellent mexican place on Lavendar Hill, then drinks at the Berlin reminiscent Project Orange. Sunny Saturday was enjoyed at Clapham Common and then Scott and Sarah’s balcony (above) for Toscana pizza deliciousness!
