first London TT

This Saturday was a big day out. I met Camilla in Brixton and meandered through there and Clapham in pursuit of bike (fail) and perused delightful cafes and material shops (win). Met Cam and co at a bar over the river from our flat for some intensity indoor table tennis times. Off east after that for a brick lane dinns and morri playing he drawer on the platform entertainment on the way home.

London catch up times

While pre-polo (horse polo) party ensued at our flat, Cam and I trooped to Clapham to meet up with Matt & Tracey. Had an excellent brunch and then wandered about Shoreditch and Brick Lane, finishing up with a beverage at Dirty Dicks and nice sunset on the chimneys from our window.

Jubilee observation

Even though it was grey, drizzling and pretty cold – we thought we should stroll to the Thames and see England in action for the Queen’s Jubilee. The banks of the river were amok with Union Jacks and royalty enthusiasm. I was happy to at least catch  a glimpse of she in question (on the boat) below and it was an impressive sight to see all the boats boosting down the river in salutation, along with the million people on the shore.

English dining

Sunshine continued into the end of the week, with a lovely Saturday lunch with Penny (who came down from Newcastle) and Olga (who lives in London). Tasty treats consumed and catch ups enjoyed. Alas, it all turned later in the day as we took the BBQ at Queenstown road on its first run – below we have Olga, Ange, Scott and Cam awaiting the cooking finale so that we could scamper inside.

Fire it up

BBQ season commenced this fine Monday evening with Cam, Millie, Dan and Wakefield enjoying the backyard, catch ups and solar powered fairy lights. The start of a most excellent week – where I got to see the amazing 1920s circus performance ‘Cantina’, help author Edna O’Brien finish her Memoir and got a job – London is most prosperous!

Sunny Sunday strolling

Relaxing Sunday called for a meander through the commons, above being Clapham Common full of both sport and leisure related activities. Cam and I have both got some sport shoes too (first time in 15 years for me) – sporting activities commence!

Heatwave continues…

Jubilance all round as the warm days continue. Walked to Battersea park to enjoy some cool beverages in the shade…being warm outside is sooo good!

Regent return

After enjoying another glorious day at home, emma looking for jobs, cam doing drawings for his animation, we went into the central city gauntlet to meet Kate and Nick. Great to delight in some beers in Regent’s park again, and then check out a delicious Vietnamese restaurant in Soho!

Time out in the sun

My temporary contract at an immigration law firm finished up, so I took a week out to look for more longterm jobs – best week to do it too because the sunshine was beaming down!! Had many an afternoon reading in our backyard and cooking some new creations (in between applying for jobs of course!). Here we have Cam and Scott dining on a lentil, rocket and goats cheese salad with some homemade olive tapenade.
