Sunny parks!

And 10 minutes down the road is Clapham Common, large open fields for enjoying sunny and picnic lunch times, here be Emma with Scott’s cousin Bex.

Sunny London!

Busy last day in Berlin packing up everything and moving on out, we were very happy to get to London and enjoy sunny times on the balcony at our friend’s flat!

Mauer mania, catch ups and TV tower

Checked out some of the great Berlin sights on the Sunday, going to a totally packed out Mauer park – enjoyed Vegan burgers and having a final stroll through the stalls. meandered through a part of Prenzlauer Berg we hadn’t explored before, to go meet Elma Wheeler (2 weeks old) and catch up with the happy and healthy new parents Pete & Frankie. Got up the TV tower for sundown view across the city – nearly off after over 2 fantastic years!

Final Saturday

Our last Saturday in Berlin involved packing up our things, and enjoying the sun and Akazienstrasse Kiez. Above is a glorious Frozen Yoghurt bar that just opened opposite the table tennis park, and below is a happy Cam with delicious pizza from ‘Garda’. Below is also a photo of everything we took with us – 2 packs, a snowboard bag and a box!

O’Revoir

Great last day at DaWanda as it coincided with the ‘O’revoir’event at the office as they are moving premises next week. Above is the excellent English crew Azra and Catherine with our DIY glasses, perfect accessory for the evening. Great times!

Baking Extravaganza

For my last working day in Berlin I baked Afghans (above), coffee fudge and a chocolate cake for DaWanda, and made them a ‘DaWanda is ‘O’ for Awesome’ (definition and video) cross stitch. I also made a chocolate cake and card for the great teach English company that I worked for ‘Oskar Lernt Englisch’ and had a catch up with the office before heading off. Nice way to end glorious time in Berlin!

Glorious Sun!

Got to enjoy the lovely balcony at our apartment for the first time on Saturday with a dramatic temperature increase – high of 18 degrees! Only deterrent was the church bells, dinging away at 8am, 12pm and 6pm plus a few extras just for fun. Had first game of table tennis too, need to embrace as much as possible, as only 10 days left in Berlin – ahhh!!

Coffee Incident

We had been enjoying the delicious NZ coffee that Nick and Azra brought back for us, when disaster struck and the bottom of the plunger popped out. Not cool.

Handmade Supermarket

Ended up heading to the ‘Handmade Supermarkt’ with Ursula this Sunday to check out the fine handmade goodies on offer. Was great way to see some DaWanda sellers in person, and stroll about Kreuzberg – feel like I’m trying to absorb the city as much as possible before leaving in 2 weeks! Also got to try ‘Tamales’ as there was a Mexican food stand there. Ursula filled me in on what was what as she comes from New Mexico where there is mexican treats galore.

Snapped some of the street art on our walkabout too, the somewhat gruesome image below is by ROA. I recognised it as had seen a photo of one of his works of a skinned rabbit – not pretty, they make me feel happy to be a vegetarian.
