Bumbag Motel

Took Horner and Steph to Bi-lage, good voku spot in Neukoln where you pay donation for a big plate of food. So great to be warm enough to eat outside and the cheap beers are always welcome.

We had Lindsay Horner and his girlfriend Steph arrive this week, straight from India. So brilliant to see them both and hear about their time in the colourful chaos. Enjoyed some delectable eats while they were here, including goats cheese, french apricot and raspberry jam and beetroot dip and of course many a beer!

we live right over the road from the now decommissioned ‘Tempelhof airport” which is now a park for all to enjoy. Camilla organised bbq times there which was most excellent. went to yet another good bar in Neukoln after and found a park with exercise machines on the way there, as seen below with cam, phil and kate and then emma in the darkness with a bottle of red.

Had Kate & Phil over from London this weekend, played mini golf in Hassenheide, went on some body jolting carnival rides, pizza, table tennis, then duty free drinking session at home before heading to some bars in Kreuzberg.

enjoyed our second 1st of may in berlin, the day when unions and political parties have their demonstrations and the police are out in full force. multiple kebabs, beers, strolling about kreuzberg with massive speakers on each corner, music blasting, people dancing. Got to enjoy the end of the day at this wonderful rooftop apartment that was all old wood inside and had a grass roof!

Indulged in some delicious cake eating, cups of tea and royal chat session at Olga’s house for her birthday. There was giant carrot cake, apple pastry, chocolate brownies, louise slice and fruit salad on offer – best saturday afternoon cure session ever! Had a big one the night before for our friend Pete Wheeler’s exhibition opening at Peres projects – was an excellent evening catch up, with amazing works viewing and drinks session, though my memory to take photos was not active.

It was so hot for the whole week, and then Tuesday eve brought on the first of the thunder, lighting and intense rain! Was most pleased to be inside to watch it all unfold, it went on for aaaaages!

Cam and I biked up to Tiergarten to enjoy a delightful picnic with Pete and Frankie – plenty of sun, good food and great catch up time! Even got in some table tennis and frisbee!

We enjoyed some hanging in Berlin time at Easter as Cam has a job on at the moment and I had a cold (very weird when it is so warm). Still got out and about exploring our neighbourhood though as it was so sunny! Here Cam and I are at the top of Viktoria park, and below we have our mushroom pie and Cam enjoying said pie on the balcony. Our kitchen got fixed just before Easter so we were loving being able to cook and eat at home again with ease!
