Back to the Tables
March 8, 2011
March arrived and brought some warmer days (defined by Emma as days without tights under jeans and bearable moments without gloves) and some most excellent visitors! Here we have Abbie and Mick enjoying some table tennis time at our local haunt. We got out for the first bike ride and slams on the tables for the year, bringing much mirth all round!
Multiple buddy catch up
March 7, 2011
We had the great fortune to have both Andrea and Rob AND Abbie and Mick in town for one evening! Here we have me, Andrea and Abbie – hadn’t seen these two ladies in over 2 years! Much merriment and movement has, alas, meant this photos is not quite in focus, but I think you get the waves of jubilation that were about. best thing is that we are all based in Europe for the next while – so many more catch ups to come!!!
Finding out more about Berlin…with Andrea and Rob!
March 5, 2011
Here we have the wonderful Rob and Andrea, who were here for a long weekend from Amsterdam. They stayed at the amazing Michelburger Hotel and we got out and about to markets and went to the White Trash restaurant for dinns – good food, good price plus live bands! We checked out another bar in P’berg before boosting straight to “Ichiban” for some glorious karaoke booth time!!
Friends in bands

Had the joy of seeing my friend Olga (on violin) play the other night – was really great to see some quality musicians up close!
Hannover
February 5, 2011
I was lucky to join my friends Camilla and Raiane to go to Hannover for the weekend! Another friend Daniel has recently moved there and has an amazing old flat located right beside this most excellent market. Tasted the best cloudy apple juice ever! Daniel was host with the most, taking us to a club on the Friday eve (blurry red photo below), pleasant strolls around ‘Linden’ (darker photo below) on the Saturday and great party on the eve (daniel, Raiane and Camilla below)! Went to a brilliant cafe too where I did some goat cheese bagel indulging and delighted in the by the kilo second hand store where i snapped up an amazing red coat for 9 euro – yus!
I could have sworn I…Berlin
February 3, 2011
Here we have Cam’s drawings that were in the Berlin “I could have sworn I…” exhibition. Was great alas that Cam could not actually be there on the night as he continued to delight in Austria’s mountain radiance. The evening was wonderful for those there with lot’s of fun catch ups and art admiration abound. You can find out more about the exhibition at: http://www.icouldhavesworni.com/
16th century castle time
February 1, 2011
emma didn’t embrace the ski factor that Innsbruck offers but instead explored some of the cultural offerings, such as Schloss Ambrass. A medieval castle with a pretty sweet collection by Archduke Ferdinand. The collection included the weird and wonderful, with this portrait of “hairy man”, there was also armoury used in battle and tournaments, below being the display for the gigantuar man and the kiddies. Then we have Vlad, who Bram Stoker’s Dracula was based on, nice.
Austria!
January 31, 2011
Cam went to Austria and Switzerland for a month long ski/snowboard trip with his dad and brother. I got to go join them in Innsbruck, Austria which was most delightful! This is right beside the hotel we were staying in, quite a refreshing change from city living with lungs full of mountain air and agorgeous old town for strolling and admiring.
