Lucky for mum and me, we got to go out on Henry’s boat on a calm and gorgeous Wednesday eve – so pretty!

Caught up with Matt and the ‘Northern Explorers’ crew at the end of their 7 country, 9 day bike tour through northern europe!

Off to den Haag – a 1 hour journey from Amsterdam and home to extreme oldness of government buildings, the ‘Binnenhof”. Here are mum and I at the back of Binnenhof on our way to the Peace Palace – the home of international law.

Cam joined us on the Friday so we explored the Steidlijk museum in Amsterdam!

Thursday took us to Westerpark where there were also a whole lot of cute garden homes, bunnies and biking paths.

Back in Amsterdam and with the week off work, mum and I got on the bikes and explored some of Amsterdam’s parks and museums. Above is mum down a garden path in Frankendael park.

On our last day we met up with the lovely Emilie, who we stayed with last time we were in Paris in 2012, and Aaron who was also visiting Paris at the time. Here we are in front of the cafe where she works ‘Pavillon des Canaux‘- worth checking out!

So great to get to spend time with Frank and Laura and to hang out in their apartment. They also cooked up a storm with Laura mastering the Galette pans – buckwheat crepes loaded with savoury fillings – the best!

  For mum’s first weekend here we got the train to Paris to catch up with the excellent Laura and Frank! Started off the day very well at a vegetarian buffet called Soya, sooo good!
